B.S. Business Administration: Accounting Concentration

The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance prepares students to master modern accounting, economics, and finance theory. Upon graduation students are able to apply accounting, economics and financial analysis to contemporary issues. Internship and co-op experiences are offered to enhance students’ real world experience. Upon graduation students are ready for graduate studies, or positions in governmental agencies, or businesses as accounting, economic and financial analysts. The curriculum in majors offered in the department is designed develop the following skills.

  1. To produce graduates with an ability to identify, describe, and determine appropriate relevant and reliable measures for business financial data and analysis for decision making.
  2. To produce graduates with the ability to effectively communicate the accounting profession and financial information with an ability to analyze and understand the global impact of accounting information.
  3. To prepare students who can think creatively and critically, conduct themselves ethically and assume leadership roles in society
  4. To apply computing and information technology in the practice of accounting
