Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Statistical Mechanics, Quantization of semiconductor crystal vibrations - Phonons, Thermal Properties, Free Electron Fermi Gas, Electron energy bands, Phonon and electronic thermal conductivity in semiconducting systems, and superconductivity.
Prerequisite(s): PHYS 0402 or consent of instructor.
