MILS 0101 - Introduction to the Army Credits: 1 Semester: 1st Semester Lecture: Lect. & Conf. 1 hr. weekly This course introduces students to the Army and the Profession of Arms. Students will examine the Army Profession and what it means to be a professional in the US Army. The overall focus is on developing basic knowledge and comprehension of the Army Leadership Requirements Model while gaining a big picture understanding of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program, its purpose in the Army, and its advantages for the student. Students also learn how resiliency and fitness supports their development as an Army leader. Students will continue learning the basics of squad level tactics that will be reinforced during a weekly leadership lab facilitated by Advanced Course Cadets and supervised by Cadre.
