MBIO 412G - Microbiology

This course covers the basic properties of viruses in relation to their roles as disease-causing agents. Emphasis will be on a systematic review of virus families that cause diseases in domestic animals. As part of the one-health initiative of Tuskegee University, special attention will be placed on viral diseases shared between people and animals and the factors that promote the emergence of such diseases. Students will also be expected to become familiar with diseases caused by prions during this course.
