CSCI 0235 - Computer Design and Architecture .

Semester: 1st and 2nd Semesters.
Lecture: 3
Digital logic gates and Boolean algebra. Function minimization and K-maps. Design of combinational logic modules: adders, decoders, multiplexers, PLAs, etc. Design of control unit, arithmetic and logic unit, instruction set, instruction formats, addressing modes, microprogramming. Introduction to parallel and distributed computer systems.

Prerequisite(s): CSCI 0225  or Departmental Approval.
